Citigroup is one of the only U.S. banks providing financing to Petroecuador, the state oil company of Ecuador notorious for catastrophic spills. In Peru, it finances state-owned oil company PetroPerú, despite opposition from the Wampis Nation and other Indigenous communities. Citi has also loaned over $1 billion to Petrobras, the state oil and gas company of Brazil and one of the largest companies expanding fossil fuel extraction in the world right now.
Citigroup can't keep avoiding reality: fossil fuels are incompatible with what is needed to protect the Amazon and our climate. Help us hold Citi accountable by applying public pressure online!
