This Saturday marks the 49th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, John. And unfortunately, it could be the last.
When Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans stole the Supreme Court from the American people, ending abortion rights as we know them was always their end goal.
And with an anti-abortion supermajority now cemented by Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch, conservatives have the votes to overturn Roe v. Wade. That’s right – it’s very possible that Roe will be overturned by the end of the summer – undoing close to 50 years of reproductive freedom.
If we want to preserve our democracy and protect the constitutional right to safe abortion for everyone in this country, we must expand the Supreme Court.
So as we approach the 49th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, please add your name to support expanding the Supreme Court today. We’ve set a goal of 4,900 signatures from supporters like you – 100 for every year Roe has been the law of the land.
I’ve been fighting for reproductive rights my entire career, and the far-right has never been this close to their ultimate goal of banning abortion. The continued future of reproductive freedom for millions of Americans should not rest in the hands of 6 anti-abortion justices.
The urgency to act has never been higher – and any action to protect access to safe abortions must include rebalancing and expanding the Supreme Court.
