Will District of Columbia Allow Abortions After Roe?
Dear John,
Roe v. Wade could soon be overturned. When that happens – and yes, we’re saying when, not if – will District of Columbia still allow abortions?
Our team did the research, categorizing each state as “Strongly Pro-Life,” “Somewhat Pro-Life,” or “Pro-Abortion.”
Sadly, after Roe is overturned, your state’s laws will have very few protections in place for unborn babies. Your state has either established a supposed “right to choose” or has laws in place that protect this so-called “right,” thereby guaranteeing abortion access after Roe. There is much work to be done.
Want to know what kinds of protections your state has – or doesn’t have? Click here to find out.
After Roe, it will be more critical than ever to not only end abortion in District of Columbia but promote a culture of life throughout your community – to make abortion unthinkable.
But that won't happen overnight. It will take dedicated citizens advocating for the changes that need to happen.
While pro-abortion states have few protections for unborn babies in their laws, take heart: the path forward is clear. You can play a critical role in helping District of Columbia recognize the full humanity of unborn children. There are numerous steps that can help make this a reality, from passing common-sense laws that regulate abortion to promoting policies that help mothers choose life, and even raising awareness to hold your government accountable.
District of Columbia has unique opportunities – and will face unique threats – in its journey toward better protecting life. After Roe, abortion advocates will push harder than ever to keep abortion in your state. With Roe on its way out, they’re already afraid that abortion is on its way out too. Let’s prove them right. Will you play a part on the winning team?
Sincerely,
Joseph Kohm Public Policy Director
