John,
In 2020, Black and brown voters turned out in record numbers to vote out a tyrant president and demand change that puts working people first.
The backlash―fueled by the “Big Lie”―was swift, with 14 states passing 34 laws attacking our voting rights.1 This includes gerrymandering voting districts to limit the power of communities of color, restricting early and mail-in voting, removing polling locations and ballot drop boxes from Black and brown communities, and putting up barriers to voter registration.
Because all Republican and two Democratic senators blocked the possibility of passing voting rights legislation by a simple majority, our democracy is threatened. We will continue to fight back every way we can. One important way is to make sure that people have all the information they need to cast a vote, no matter how many barriers officials try to erect.
In 2020, CHN helped turn out record numbers of Latino voters in Georgia and across the country. We didn’t tell them who to vote for, but we did tell them how much was at stake. We made sure they knew how to cast an absentee ballot or to vote early. We told them how to register to vote.
With voting restrictions taking effect in states across the country, we must work even harder in 2022 to make sure people know the changing rules. Yes―powerful interests want to keep people of color and people with low incomes from voting, because they’re worried those voters will demand an agenda that makes the rich and corporations pay their fair share and invests in our future.
But we can―and must―fight back.
Donate today to power CHN’s critical voter turnout efforts in the 2022 midterm elections. We will not let our voices be silenced!

Thank you for fighting for the future of our democracy and for an agenda that puts people ahead of greedy corporate interests.
