Dear John,
You may have seen that yesterday the Senate once again failed to protect our democracy and pass voting rights.
This is a big deal, but it’s not the end. I’m still committed to finding a path to protect the right to vote for millions of Americans and combat the wave of voter suppression we’re seeing in Republican-controlled legislatures across the country.
As I said last week (I’ve included my note below in case you missed it!), we’re in the fight of our lives to build a healthy democracy that engages working class communities and communities of color. I’ll keep working with organizers, community leaders, and my Congressional colleagues until we make it a reality -- but I can’t do it without you.
