Abortion Rights are Hanging by a Thread

This year marks the 49th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision, and across the nation anti-choice lawmakers are ramming through dangerous abortion restrictions that would erase the protections guaranteed by Roe. That’s why I’m asking for your help today.

We knew that the three conservative justices appointed by Donald Trump to the Supreme Court would put Roe in jeopardy, and it was only a matter of time until a case would go before them. Now, the anti-choice super-majority appears ready to use the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case to overturn Roe, and with that activate “trigger laws” in states across the country to ban abortion in those places outright.

To protect and expand the rights of generations of people who can become pregnant, NOW needs your help to step up the fight for reproductive freedom.

For decades, Roe v. Wade has been under assault from federal policies like the Hyde Amendment that denies insurance coverage of abortion care for millions of women. In 2021 alone, states enacted more than 100 abortion restrictions, the highest number passed in any of the 49 years since Roe was decided.
