One year ago, I joined my colleagues on the steps of the Capitol as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took their oaths of office and we began a new chapter in our country. We didn’t waste time getting to work.

We took bold action and passed the American Rescue Plan which cut childhood poverty in half, expanded child tax credits and kept frontline workers like teachers, law enforcement, and health care workers on the job; we passed a landmark infrastructure bill that will bring $20 million in transportation projects to Southwestern Connecticut; and we advanced legislation to expand background checks, ensure equal pay for equal work, and protect the right to organize.

By delivering pandemic relief, restoring the economy and creating jobs, addressing climate change, and supporting common-sense gun safety reforms we can continue down the road to recovery while supporting workers and families.
