Comments from Marjorie Taylor Greene used as “rallying cries” for segments of far right

A little over a year after the violent attack on the Capitol, threats targeting members of Congress have increased alongside a surge of violent speech shared online and inside the building.

Recent comments by Marjorie Taylor Greene that we should use “Second Amendment” rights to defend against Democrats have led to increased threats from right-wing groups.  

Experts like Rita Katz, executive director of the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors online activity of white supremacist groups and other extremists, said comments like the ones from Marjorie Taylor Greene reverberate online.
