Folks,

Senate Republicans just exploited the filibuster to block critical voting rights legislation — yes, you read that correctly. Again.

The Democratic majority started the year with a comprehensive plan to protect and expand voting rights. It’s especially important now, as access to the ballot box is under threat across the country.

Yet somehow, Republicans are the ones calling the shots on voting rights legislation, allowing voter suppression laws to go into effect across the country — all because we haven’t abolished the archaic filibuster. New year, same obstructionist tactics.

We have to choose — our democracy or the filibuster.

Last night, I chose our democracy. And I refuse to give up on passing legislation to expand the right to vote and make our campaign finance system more ethical.

I’ll keep fighting every day to get voting rights legislation across the finish line and expand our Senate majority. But I’m counting on your support to do it.

Can you make a donation of $10 or any amount to power our work? It will take all of us coming together to stop voter suppression.

The filibuster has got to go — our democracy depends on it. Thank you for being part of this fight.

— Martin
