John,

Today, I spoke at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin on the eve of the anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.

And now, in 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to hear a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, and the implications of this could not be clearer: the right to access abortion in Wisconsin is under its most dire threat in 50 years.

Wisconsin has a pre-Roe criminal abortion ban on the books. That means if Roe v. Wade is overturned, our state could turn back the clock on reproductive healthcare access by five decades.

John, add your name here to stand with me in support of women's reproductive freedom and against Republican extremists trying to take it away! ([link removed])

We cannot go back to the days of criminalizing doctors for providing care to patients or denying access to abortion and reproductive health decisions a person makes based on their circumstances, their health, and personal values.

And, frankly, folks, we’ve gotten too comfortable relying on the Court to protect access to reproductive healthcare and allowing them to decide whether the people we care about in Wisconsin — our family members, friends, and neighbors — are able to access the care they need.

Reproductive healthcare decisions are deeply personal and should be made by patients and their healthcare providers. Period. And politicians and special interests shouldn’t interfere in those decisions, in Wisconsin or anywhere else.

Instead, we should be working to make sure that all Wisconsinites have access to quality, affordable healthcare, including reproductive healthcare, so they can make their own informed decisions about their own reproductive needs. Sign here if you agree! ([link removed])

As long as I’m governor, I will continue to fight for quality, affordable healthcare for every Wisconsinite. I will always trust women to make decisions about their bodies and their healthcare.

And just as I have since taking office in 2019, I will veto any bill that comes across my desk that makes it harder for folks to access the healthcare they need.

Because it's the right thing to do.

Onward,

Tony
