Last night, every single Republican Senator and two Democratic Senators casted their own votes against expanding voting rights in this country.
This is not a partisan issue. This is about letting people — no matter who they are voting for — cast their ballots for who they want to see in office.
Before these Senate Republicans stood in unison against protecting the right to vote, House Republicans did the same thing — led by Kevin McCarthy.
I mean, really, he had the gall to vote against the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, but then tweet about honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. just a few days ago. Take a look for yourself!
Here’s my promise to you: I will always be a champion for voting rights.

On Monday, I said that no one should say a word about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. if they aren’t prepared to support the expansion of voting rights — something he fought for nearly every day of his life.
That includes Kevin McCarthy, who tweets about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spreading “the gospel of freedom” but in the same breath, opposes efforts to end gerrymandering, expanding the right to vote, and strengthening democracy.
If you’re ready to elect more people who will fight for the right to vote, chip in to our people-powered campaign today and make sure we have the resources to activate as many voters as possible to win.
Let's do this,
Bruno
