** Race + Power Weekly
------------------------------------------------------------
As we begin 2022, it makes sense to stop and notice that a shift is happening in racial justice work. At NPQ, we will be focusing this year on building pro-Black organizations. Our upcoming Spring magazine issue will feature the latest thinking on this. We’d like to introduce the topic here with a feature by Cyndi Suarez on the schism between leaders at the edge of this work and the funders who claim to be. Another feature from our current Winter magazine, our first on health justice, looks at how Black queer spaces define thriving. From our archives, emerging pro-Black farming policy and a call to funders to support Black-led nonprofits by funding capacity building and infrastructure. Listen to what Black people say they need.

------------------------------------------------------------

The benevolence that we have been seeing all over the news and as part of every major public affairs campaign didn’t reach us. It didn’t reach the majority of our community members and nonprofits that are on the ground doing this work in real time. Read more… ([link removed])
