Dear John,
Did you know that, despite being essential workers, farmworkers have been excluded from overtime pay since 1938? Now, Oregon has the opportunity to right this historic wrong by passing the Farmworker Overtime bill, which is being led by our friends at Oregon's farmworker union, PCUN (Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste).
Next week, we're joining forces with PCUN and Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) to discuss the bill and how it intersects with climate change. RSVP today!

As climate change progresses, farmworkers are still expected to show up for work in dangerous conditions–heatwaves, wildfire smoke, ice storms, and more–in order to make ends meet. Now it’s our turn to show up for them by supporting their push for paid overtime wages.
Stronger wages for farmworkers will result in less exposure to excessive heat, wildfire smoke, and other hazardous climate conditions. Learn more about how you can help at the forum on Thursday, January 27th. Don’t forget to RSVP!
We hope to see you there,
