With gun lobby allies pushing bad bills across the country, we need to know where we stand.

John–

I have some good news about the impact of your advocacy work. We've crunched the numbers, and our findings are clear: In states with strong gun safety laws, fewer people die by gun violence.

See the results for yourself in the Everytown Gun Law Rankings, a new tool that ranks states on the strength of their gun laws. Take a look to see how District of Columbia stacks up against the rest.

See where your state stacks up against the rest when it comes to gun safety. California, Hawaii, and New York are the top 3. Montana, Idaho, and Mississippi are the bottom three.

CHECK MY STATE

We compared gun policy across the country, scoring every state on the strength of its gun laws and comparing it with its rate of gun violence. The 13 states that have failed to put basic protections into place—"national failures" on our scale—have nearly triple the rate of gun deaths as the eight states that are national gun safety leaders.

Many of these states have such weak gun laws because of elected lawmakers who only listen to the gun lobby. And they haven't wasted any time pushing their dangerous agenda in 2022. We're already seeing bills to allow permitless carry and so-called "Stand Your Ground" in statehouses across the country.

And we're expecting dozens more.

With so many statehouses back in session and major elections right around the corner, we need all hands on deck. The gun lobby's allies are not letting up, and neither are we. Get ready to take action: See where your state stacks up on gun safety and gun violence.

Thank you for being a part of this movement. Together, we can end gun violence and defeat the gun lobby's "guns everywhere" agenda.
