Austin ISD Parents: Hand Over Your Radical Sex Education Documents

Parents with students in Austin ISD teamed up with Texas Values this week to request public information from the school district. Parents are seeking communications regarding the cancellation of Planned Parenthood’s Get Real curriculum in September and the subsequent arrangements to quickly pass new and controversial sex education from abortion provider Alberta Health Services in less than two months. Parents have repeatedly expressed concern this process has been rushed, and their input has been ignored.

Texas Values is working to help parents uncover more information behind the recently adopted radical and hypersexualized sex education curriculum and if there are questionable actions that need to be brought to the light.  Parents have a right to know where this radical curriculum came from and who approved it. Austin ISD should have nothing to hide, and we look forward to more information. This request comes a week after Austin ISD approved this new curriculum at their board meeting after an overwhelming majority of local residents testified against it, including over 8,000 who have signed our petition at NoRadicalSexEd.com. We have also submitted a request for information from Austin ISD related to inviting a Drag Queen with a criminal record into an elementary school.

Trump Protects Faith-Based Adoptions

Under a new proposed rule from the Trump Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services, the federal government no longer will withhold federal grant money from faith-based adoption providers that won’t compromise their views on same-sex marriage. Texas Values helped lead the effort to pass a state law in 2017, The Freedom to Serve Children Act, that provides similar protections to faith-based adoptions agencies here in Texas.
