Friend,
Today, the Senate failed to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Voting
Rights Act. This bill would have ensured that democracy wins, so that
elections are free, fair, and without barriers.
Here at the Institute for a Progressive Nevada, we are passionate about
the freedom to vote. We work every single day to ensure that all voters,
nationwide, enjoy the same access and ease of voting that we have here in
Nevada. Since our founding in 2009, we have led the fight against
disinformation and have been one of the loudest voices for voting rights
and expansion in Carson City.

For far too long, some states have tried to suppress participation in
voting by passing restrictive laws that create unacceptable barriers to
the ballot box. It is important to make sure that every American can
safely cast their ballot because we KNOW that increased voter
participation is critical to a strong democracy.
History will remember those who voted for, or against this legislation.
With the propagation of disinformation and attacks on our elections, we
are at a critical moment in history where we must prevent free and fair
elections from being sabotaged in the name of lies.
To counter the rampant anti-voting sentiment and disinformation that
escalated during our last election, we re-doubled our efforts toward voter
education, registration, and voting rights, leading to RECORD-BREAKING
voter turnout. And in our most recent legislative sessions, we fought
fiercely to defend voter access in Nevada with our partners with MULTIPLE
pieces of legislation — and Nevadans won because of our work.
Nevada is a leader in access to voting rights because of our work with our
partners. Will you pledge $10 monthly to us today so we can continue to
educate voters and fight the disinformation of bad actors working to
undermine our democracy?
