Hi John,

[Note: I’m reading through responses to yesterday’s email, and they’ve been extremely interesting! If you haven’t responded yet, please feel free to go back to yesterday’s email and do that now, because I’m reading every response.]

As the famous song goes, “there is power in a union.”

I felt inspired to write this email while thinking about the strike wave sweeping the nation. Not only are workers striking, but they’re forming unions and resigning from low-paying jobs where they’re treated like crap.

If you spend any time watching the news or browsing political Twitter, things can feel pretty (very) gloomy. It’s important to remember the positives, and one of them is how millions of workers across the country are remembering the power of withholding their labor.

I am proud to have a robust pro-labor platform including passing the PRO Act, eliminating “right to work,” mandating 45% employee representation on corporate boards, ending the misclassification of employees as contractors or supervisors, and guaranteeing the right of all workers to unionize, including farm, domestic, and food service workers.

In 2020, Data for Progress ranked my labor platform #2 in the country, including all sitting representatives and candidates. Can you donate now to send me to Congress, where I’ll fight to strengthen labor laws? [[link removed]]

One of my jobs as a member of Congress will be fighting to make it easier for workers to unionize and strike, so every worker in this country enjoys a safe, secure, well-paid job. To help me in that fight, please give here now:
