[1]Cori Bush

John,

Two senators stand in the way of passing much-needed voting rights
legislation: Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.

Tonight, the Senate is set to take up the Freedom to Vote: John Lewis
Voting Rights Act. And once again, Manchin and Sinema are refusing to
amend the filibuster to pass this critical bill.

So much is at stake when it comes to protecting our democracy and securing
the right to vote. Our voices. Our rights. Our lives.

Voters did not send Democratic majorities in the White House, Senate, and
House of Representatives to move our country backward. They sent us with a
mandate to protect our rights, center the needs of everyday people in
policy, and save lives and livelihoods.

We must put our support behind Cori as she leads the movement to end the
filibuster and organizes to deliver urgent change for our communities.

Black historymakers marched, bled, and died to secure the right to vote
for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come. And today,
Manchin and Sinema are choosing complacency, and to let the legacy of Jim
Crow live on.

With Republicans in far-right legislatures across the country limiting
access to the voting booth, it shouldn't be this difficult to guarantee
that everyone has the right to vote in our country.

Let's make this clear,
John: The filibuster must go
because as long as conservative Democrats and Senate Republicans refuse to
end it, people's voting rights — and lives — are at risk.

It's time we rise up against the filibuster and do what it takes to
meaningfully legislate for the needs of St. Louis and communities like it.
[ [link removed] ]Will you chip in $5 or anything you can today to power
Cori's organizing work to abolish the filibuster, protect voting rights,
and pass progressive legislation?

In solidarity,

Team Cori
