<[link removed]>Hello Friend,
Before I get into Roe and how URGE is marking the decision’s 49th anniversary, let me first say that abortions have always happened, and abortions always will happen. As long as people have been getting pregnant, they have been finding ways to end their pregnancies from ancient practices to herbs to self-harm to abortion pills. Limiting access to abortion will most impact those who Roe has never protected – young, low-income, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ folks.
Take a look at this video for a quick summary of the history of this landmark yet limited 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling. <[link removed]>
As the fate of abortion rights remains in the hands of #SCOTUS, it’s time to start asking what it looks like to move BEYOND Roe.
Join us Jan 20th @ 4PM ET for our 2021 #RoeRoundtable— a space for young people to envision a world with #RealAbortionAccess.
