Friend,

We've officially entered an election year, and I'll be blunt: With the Republican Party dangerously beholden to Donald Trump – and our very democracy at stake – Democrats have zero margin for error.

That's why our campaign is going into overdrive to keep this seat, and I'm asking you to share your feedback right away – because I can only win this race with direct input from people like you.

So please: Will you take a few moments to let me know what issues matter most to you this election year? It only takes a couple of minutes, and your input is essential to keeping me current on your priorities so I can do my best to fight for them and for you.

I know you hear a lot from me about Senate control and what's at stake, but it's because I've seen the harm and obstruction of a Mitch McConnell-led GOP majority up close and personal. Their focus is not on you. Their eyes are on the beltway and halls of power. Mine are on you.

People's lives and livelihoods are at stake. Our fundamental civil rights are at stake. Our planet is at stake. I am here to serve you and make sure your voices are heard.

The Republican Party is united around defending Donald Trump, amplifying his lies, and obstructing efforts to investigate his potential criminal wrongdoing. They want to retake control and advance an extreme right-wing agenda. I'm focused on improving the lives of everyday Americans. Protecting our democracy from dangerous attacks at home and abroad. And making sure government, and those who lead it, are held accountable for their actions.

My willingness to stand up has made me a target. I know I can only keep this seat if I have the best possible campaign strategy – powered by people like you.

So please, before my team's next strategy meeting on Thursday morning, will you partake in our official campaign survey? I'd love 500 more members of this team to submit their feedback tonight.

With gratitude,

Dick
