CNN just did a data analysis of historical trends and the Senate seats up in 2022, and here was the takeaway:

CNN: Democrats' best chance to pick up a Republican-held seat is where Republicans are retiring.

Which state is at the top of that list? North Carolina.

That’s right, with Richard Burr retiring and making this an open seat, history shows this race is one of our best pickup opportunities in 2022. But we are going to need a lot of grassroots support to do it:
