Folks, the right to vote is sacred. This nation’s history is filled with stories of men and women willing to fight tooth and nail to uphold it. Voting is the foundation of our democracy and must be protected.

That’s why I was honored to accompany President Biden and Vice President Harris in Atlanta as they delivered remarks about the need to protect our sacred right to vote. President Biden has made it clear what is at stake as we face the most coordinated effort to restrict the right to vote in a generation.

Our country is at a crossroads. As crucial voting rights legislation heads to the Senate floor, we have the opportunity to decide where we stand. The choice is clear: either we uphold the right of every American to participate in our democracy or we send the message that some voices matter more than others.

I know where I stand. Now it’s up to the Senate to protect our rights.
