In the first year of his presidency, President Biden’s administration has helped distribute 650 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, vaccinating 76% of the U.S. population (64% is fully vaccinated).¹

President Biden was able to accomplish this feat by utilizing the little-known Defense Production Act to compel manufacturers to prioritize orders from the federal government. Late yesterday, the administration also announced they would do the same with N-95 masks, although no timeline has yet been set on their distribution.
