Today, the Senate will vote on legislation that would protect voting rights. If Senate Republicans insist on blocking our efforts, we must take action to reform the filibuster in the face of GOP obstructionism on this issue.
Thank you,

Over the past year, state legislators have embraced Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” about the 2020 election that incited the January 6th attack in order to enact 34 laws across the country with the express purpose of making it harder for Americans to vote in our elections. It’s been just over one year since the January 6th attack on our Capitol when violent insurrectionists sought to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power that is one of the bedrocks of our democracy.
At the same time, Senate Republicans are using Trump’s Big Lie and the filibuster to obstruct Democrats’ efforts to protect voting rights and our elections from these types of undemocratic attacks.
This is wrong, John. It goes against everything our democracy represents.
I cannot look the other way as Republican lawmakers seek to undermine our democracy and obstruct us from fulfilling our duties as elected members of Congress to protect the right to vote and our democratic process.
That’s why this week, I will join my fellow Senate Democrats in taking action to advance voting rights legislation.

Keep fighting the good fight,
