Volunteers Needed!

NOLA Ready's Freeze Shelters, Mardi Gras First Aid stations, and Homebound Vaccine Program are looking for volunteers for shifts as early as tomorrow. Learn more about these volunteer opportunities below:

Freeze Shelters
NOLA Ready needs your help keeping residents out of the cold! The City is coordinating with shelter providers ahead of this weekend's winter weather. The current forecast predicts "feels like" temperatures slightly below freezing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, which would activate the Citywide Freeze Plan.

Shelter roles include registration, meal distribution, and supply restocking. To volunteer, take our Emergency Freeze Operations Shelter Training and sign-up below. Volunteers must take STR 100 or STR 200 to qualify.

Mardi Gras First Aid Stations

Mardi Gras First Aid station volunteers will work alongside EMS VIGORs, MRCs, and Red Cross Volunteers at these stations. Volunteers will operate at a basic first aid level and provide limited medical care.

Read the NOLA Ready Mardi Gras First Aid Volunteer Guide to see the full list of required and recommended trainings. New Orleans EMS is offering a number of AHA Basic Life Support CPR & First Aid courses, especially for our volunteers. These courses are available at a reduced cost ($8) and have limited space available.
