Friend --
Today, the House passed the Puerto Rico Recovery Accuracy in Disclosures Act of 2021, and we sent it to President Biden to sign! This measure will extend current U.S. law to require disclosures of conflicts of interest in all PROMESA bankruptcy proceedings in Puerto Rico -- which is a huge win against predatory loan restructuring.
I introduced this bill to protect working families -- not big banks' and investors' bottom lines. We can't allow them to continue to exploit conflicts of interest -- at the expense of our communities -- and disclosure is the first step to fighting back.
And the work doesn't stop now.
From fighting vulture capitalism and predatory small business loans in New York City to ensuring transparency and targeting corruption in Puerto Rico, I am proud to stand up to large banks and fight for working families. Can I count on you to join me? [[link removed]]

Big banks and other investors are promoting their own interests, which has significant consequences for small businesses and working families from New York to Puerto Rico. I’m proud to advocate for a fairer, more equitable future, starting with increased transparency and policies that stand up to banks and protect working families. Are you with me? [[link removed]]
