Friend,
I was honored last week to safely and remotely address the Washington State Legislature ahead of the legislative session.
The theme of my 2022 State of State address? We need action, this day.
From combating climate change and protecting our salmon to addressing the homelessness crisis, our legislators must take bold action to meet this critical moment our state is facing.
Watch my 2022 State of the State address right now -- and then share it with your friends and neighbors.

I started my address by thanking our frontline workers, educators, and state employees for all they've done to keep our communities safer throughout this pandemic. Their brave actions have not only saved thousands of lives, but are a testament to the spirit that makes Washington the best states to live, work, and do business in. But we must do more.
The needs of our young people have only grown greater since the pandemic began. So I'm proposing reinvesting $900 million into our education system, while also supporting our vulnerable foster youth.
Furthermore, it's time to make a rapid investment in supportive housing and remove the antiquated barriers to multi-family or clustered housing options in our cities. Everyone in our state deserves the dignity of a private place to live.
We must continue to take bold action as a state to address the burgeoning climate crisis. It's time to implement our commitment to reducing emissions while establishing a clean fuel standard and fund clean transportation programs. And we must protect our precious salmon in partnership with Washington state's tribal communities.
Our state is facing multiple, urgent crises. So our response must be equally big and equally bold.
I hope you'll take a moment to watch my 2022 State of the State address and then share it.
Together, let's take bold action and get to work.
Very truly yours,
Jay
