John,
My name is Pat Timmons-Goodson. I was the first Black woman to serve as a North Carolina Supreme Court Justice, and I ran for Congress in North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District in 2020.
Before my professional achievements, Valerie Foushee and I lived in the same undergraduate dormitory.
Yes, that’s right. While I was a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Valerie was a sophomore, and I was an RA in her dormitory. I have known Valerie for a long time now and have always held her in high regard. I’ve watched what she’s accomplished in her career and have always been impressed. That’s why I’m supporting Valerie’s campaign for Congress in North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District.
SUPPORT VALERIE ([link removed])
Valerie has the experience necessary to be a successful leader for our state in Congress. She has served in public office for the past 24 years and has a proven track record of getting things done. Valerie has championed women’s rights and has fought to increase healthcare access in North Carolina.
As a former Congressional candidate, I know how critical it is to support candidates early in the race. Contributions in January, in an election year, can be used much more effectively and strategically than donations that come in a few weeks before Election Day.
So please, if you’re able, join me in supporting Valerie Foushee by contributing to her campaign for Congress today.→

We need more proven leaders in Congress like Valerie. I hope you’ll stand with her and support her candidacy.
With gratitude,
Pat Timmons-Goodson
