Hey John,

What a strange week it has been. And despite how much you prepare in life, you can't anticipate everything. For example... I've been preparing for filming my second ever hour standup special (this Thur in Philly, get tix HERE.) And have been running it everywhere, and doing a lot of press from my home studio. But suddenly I started seeing flies in the studio. Lots of them. HUGE ones. Large, angry flies! And they were flying at me during press appearances! We recently found a rat in the attic, and so I suspected it was due to another one up there. Aaaaand I was right. Apparently the trap that was set up there, and this is a bit graphic I apologize, didn't quite catch the guy, and the pest control company said he couldn't get to him, but that it was "okay to leave him up there." What?!? Just forever??? Seems not accurate but okay. I found it pretty funny that no matter how much we try and control, sometimes life hits you with angry flies. And by you I mean me. It reminded me that this is all a comedy.

Which seems like a good time to film my comedy special. Carmel and I just flew to New York, then took two trains and and then an Uber to New Jersey, all while carrying our 4 bags of clothes, gear and merch. (I totally own a private jet and a tour bus I just like making travel harder). I'm rehearsing the hour one last time tonight in New Brunswick at the Stress Factory. Tickets available HERE.
