John, I’m proud that The Philadelphia Inquirer recently wrote an in-depth piece about my public banking legislation.
By allowing Philadelphia taxpayers to access credit to grow businesses and create jobs, a public banking system would be a gamechanger for our city.
While the majority of Philadelphia residents are Black and Latino, many business owners of color do not have access to credit they need due to discrimination from the private banking system.
This has led to the inability for these communities to create jobs and develop generational wealth, which in turn reduces poverty and makes our city a safer place to live.
Public banking is a matter of equity, John, which is why it’s critical that my bill gets passed this year.
Will you add your name today to show your support for public banking in Philadelphia before the Mayor releases his new budget proposal? [[link removed]]
