After reading through the responses from our recent 2022 priorities survey, one thing has become abundantly clear: Our current system is not working for everyday Americans.
Families should not have to choose between safe child care or returning to work. Workers should not have to pick up a second (or third) job just to pay rent. Nobody should be bankrupt paying for insulin or any other necessary pharmaceutical drug. And our loved ones around the world should not be put in danger due to the rapidly changing climate.
Ro has been running on the principles of health care for all, holding Big Oil accountable for their continued ruin of our planet, and raising the minimum wage for the first time since 2009. And with a Democratic majority in the House and Senate, and Joe Biden in the White House, we are closer to passing important progressive legislation than ever before.
But we need to hold these bodies accountable to the people.
Building our movement on the ground — and increasing the pressure we put on Congress and the Biden administration — is the only way we’ll be able to advance our agenda to fight for student debt relief, a Green New Deal, COVID-19 relief for families, Medicare for All and more.
Just in the past few weeks, this movement was able to pressure the Biden Administration to push back the reenactment of federal student loan payments.
