We’re writing today with a quick request for you to renew your People For membership today. Why?
Three huge reasons:

Voting Rights. We’re in the fight of our lives for this most fundamental of American rights at the moment – and People For is going all-in on this fight, from leading multiple civil disobedience actions at the White House to whatever else it will take to get the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act signed into law.

Congress. Midterm elections are coming up this fall and the Far Right hopes to seize control of Congress. People For has already begun the biggest electoral campaign in our organization’s history – with a goal of expanding Democratic majorities in both houses in order to pass good, progressive legislation like the Build Back Better act.

The Courts. President Biden is already making very good progress in rebalancing the courts after the rightward swing of the Trump era, but this progress simply must continue. We’re very likely to see a Supreme Court vacancy this year, and that’s another “all hands on deck” moment for the nominations advocacy work that People For specializes in.
We can’t do this work without your financial support – but we’re still 1,324 new or renewed members away from where we need to be by the end of January in order to meet our financial goals, and our records show your current status as “unrenewed.”

We are in the most important year in PFAW's 41-year existence — and it’s a make-or-break year for the very survival of American democracy.
That's why I'm so concerned that, as of my last look at our member records, you haven't yet renewed your support for 2022.
People For is leading an unprecedented campaign to push national voting rights legislation across the finish line into law, and stop the Far Right from seizing control of Congress in November. But there's NO way we can be successful without grassroots support from members like you.
If there were ever a year when we needed ALL of People For’s members standing with us in the fight, it's this one. Unfortunately, as I write this, we are not on pace to meet our goal of 1,922 new or renewed members by the end of the month ... And we need another 430 members to step up by Monday if we're even going to stand a chance!

We're scaling up the work that you know and have previously supported – and that has had real impact – like pushing for confirmation of President Biden’s judicial nominees to rebalance America’s courts after the rightward swing of the Trumpian era, and reimagining public safety in cities nationwide with a network of progressive mayors committed to building communities that reflect the values of freedom, fairness, and opportunity for all.
We're investing significantly in holding and expanding Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate this year. We will continue to press for holding the January 6 coup plotters accountable. We will work to elect Senators who will vote for legislation like the Build Back Better Act and continue confirming the president’s nominees.
But time is shorter than you think … there are critical fights happening RIGHT NOW (like our efforts to push voting rights legislation across the President’s desk and into law), and the work that's needed to win this November is already well underway.
