Dear John,

I am excited to share with you an exciting update: our newest Leadership Training Academy class of 2020, comprising of 40 physicians from around the country, will be meeting in our nation’s capital for their first in-person advocacy training next week.

The Academy has created a community of nearly 400 physicians to be proud leaders and advocates for abortion access.

They’ll receive expert instruction in print, radio, and on-camera media training. They’ll learn how to effectively communicate with the media and our lawmakers to influence reproductive health care policy and create change.

On the final day, they’ll use their training to visit our representatives on Capitol Hill, where they’ll be asking lawmakers to protect the Title X family planning program and birth control access.

WATCH: From dedicated providers to unstoppable advocates!

These skills are the essential building blocks of effective advocacy that Academy fellows will use to advance access to reproductive health care.

Our courageous advocates will also gain a career-long team of support from our staff to guide them through their unique advocacy journeys. They depend on our staff and supporters like you as they often face very real personal and professional risk to speak out.

Soon, I’ll be introducing you to these brave physicians and the work they’re doing across the country.

Already I am so proud of the incredible progress we’re making together, and I know you will be too.

Thank you for believing in this work and in our advocates.
