Hi friend,

My name is Brooke Butler, and I am a proud alum of the Data and Analytics Camp of 2018. I am also a policy expert, digital strategist, and a board member and organizer with the DC Abortion Fund and BYP100. In each of my roles, I apply the strategic skills I learned at DAC whether it be:

• Learning about people’s abortion experiences and using this data to inform how we talk about and advocate for abortion care;
  
• Establishing data practices, in any campaign, that get us to a win and allow us to engage and mobilize people who’ve been excluded from our democracy;
  
• Viewing my experience as a Black woman as a unique asset to data analytics. I see data in a different way and ask different questions because of it;
  
• Using data visualization and mapping to tell a larger story about the struggles people face and the policies needed to address them.

All that is true, and I’ve never even had the official title of Data Director ;)
