Dear John

In December we asked you to email the Turkish government calling on them to impose an arms embargo against the Burmese military.

Great News! The Turkish Ambassador to the UK has now written to Rushanara Ali, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Democracy in Burma, informing her that Turkey now has a ban on the export of arms and military equipment to Burma.

Turkey became the 45^th country to publicly state it won’t sell arms to the Burmese military.

Our next target is Serbia.

Serbia, has been supplying the Burmese military with arms for decades, has a defence co-operation agreement with the military, and as recently as 2019 has been selling arms and discussing increasing military cooperation.

This is despite Serbia being in the process of joining the European Union, which means it is supposed to align with EU foreign policy, which includes an arms embargo.

Email the government of Serbia now calling on them to publicly state that they will impose an arms embargo. ([link removed])

The guns bullets and bombs being sold to the Burmese military are being used against civilians, killing hundreds and forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes.

Help us cut the supply of arms to the Burmese military. Email the government of Serbia now. ([link removed])

Thank you for all your support.
