Team —
As many of you know, I am personally suing Rep. Mo Brooks for his role in inciting the violent January 6th insurrection. And last week in court, Mo certainly put himself in a tough spot.
He argued that his incendiary January 6th speech was part of his congressional duties — you heard that right — even when he told protestors to “start taking down names and kicking ass” and said “tomorrow is a day for fighting!”
Now, of course, Mo claims that the “fighting” he was referring to was work needed to win the 2022 and 2024 elections. I'm not buying it.
Mo is simply trying to buy himself immunity, after unsuccessfully demanding that the Justice Department fight this battle for him. It takes a certain kind of person to ask for protection from the same government he was attempting to harm.
John, my lawsuit against Mo Brooks is working. This team promised to hold the GOP accountable, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
This lawsuit is something I’m doing as a private citizen, not as a congressman or candidate. But if you’d like to support my efforts to hold Republicans accountable in Congress, please consider making a contribution to my reelection campaign.
I will use every tool available to me, both in my private and public capacities, to protect our democracy and hold guys like Mo accountable for their treacherous actions.
