Friend ,

On Saturday, January 15th, the Eviction Moratorium that protected over 591,000 households behind on rent expired, making an eviction crisis inevitable. During a pandemic surge that has a 21.29% positivity rate and temperatures dropping to below freezing, the last thing families should have to worry about is whether or not they can stay in their homes.

As we fight in Albany to pass the Good Cause Eviction legislation that would prevent no-fault evictions, allow for automatic lease renewal, and prevent landlords from pushing out tenants through excessive rent increases, it is essential to know your rights and the resources available to you.

If you or someone you know is in need of rental assistance, New York City residents can call Housing Court Answers from 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday at 212-962-4795 or at 718-557-1379. You can also reach out to my district office for assistance at 718-557-1379 or email us at [email protected]

Please forward this email to anyone who may require assistance. As a community, we must look out for each other and support each other through this pandemic and financially challenging time.
