Hey there --

Big news from Capitol Hill: Members of Congress just proposed bold new legislation to ban the toxic business model of surveillance advertising at the core of Big Tech’s proliferation of disinformation and extremism on and offline.

Take action and urge your Members of Congress to support the new Banning Surveillance Advertising Act.

By incentivizing Big Tech monopolies to hook users for as long as possible with whatever content keeps them clicking and scrolling, surveillance advertising fuels the spread of misinformation and disinformation. Learn more and urge your Members of Congress to support the new Banning Surveillance Advertising Act:

Surveillance advertising has eroded our consensus reality and pushed democracy to the brink. But we can break this cycle by banning surveillance advertising and removing the financial incentive for companies to endlessly feed users polarizing and divisive content. We’ve seen the dangerous repercussions of this toxic business model from rampant COVID misinformation to the Capitol insurrection.

We’ve spent the last year building a global coalition of groups calling to ban surveillance advertising. We’ve made significant headway in elevating the dangers of Big Tech’s toxic business model. Now’s the time for us to put an end to the pernicious practice of surveillance advertising.

Thank you for joining us in this fight,

Nicole
