Friend, I got into this race to help ensure Montana families have access to the jobs, housing, and healthcare they need to thrive. Unfortunately, we’re experiencing a housing crisis that is hurting all of our communities, as covered in this recent story:
Last week, I met with a young, single mom who was evicted from her Belgrade apartment after living there for 12 years. She was only given 24 hours notice. I hear stories like this in every town across our district. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s unacceptable.
The unprecedented growth in Montana should benefit Montanans – not push them out of our state. No one should be priced out of their hometown. We need more affordable housing options, and we need them now. Luckily, we have grassroots and local leaders leading the charge – but they need leaders in Congress who will show up, listen, and help bring federal support and incentives to the table.
When it comes to our main streets, our small businesses, and our economy, I will fight every day to make sure Montana families can thrive and folks who live and work here can afford to stay.
I’m ready to be an advocate for affordable housing in Congress, and I’m committed to creating solutions at the federal level that support our efforts locally. But it’s important that I hear from you, first:
What are some of your ideas on how we can address Montana’s housing issues? If you have personal experience dealing with the affordable housing crisis, I’d love to hear from you, too. [[link removed]]
