Senate Republicans continue to use the filibuster to block urgent and meaningful progress.
Right now, they’re using the Jim Crow filibuster to block critical voting rights legislation — the Freedom to Vote Act, which would advance voting rights protections and expand accessibility of vote-by-mail.
Republicans have the audacity to quote Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in their floor speeches, and refer to the late Congressman John Lewis as a national hero, but then actively work to undermine their life's work.
We cannot allow these obstructionists to dictate the legislative agenda in Congress. It’s time to get rid of the Jim Crow filibuster and advance the work that voters elected Democrats to do.
There are no more excuses.
Grassroots organizers have done their part. The House did its part.
Now we need to get meaningful voting rights legislation across the finish line.
