We need fair, objective, and impartial election administration. John, Across the country, conspiracy-minded Republicans and right-wing extremists are working hard to prevent another democratic election that results in their candidate losing. These ‘Big Lie’ promoters and Trump loyalists are aiming to infiltrate Boards of Election, County Clerks offices, and other positions critical to administration of fair elections at the local level. In Colorado, we have Tina Peters—the Clerk for Mesa County, who is credibly accused of aiding an outside security breach of the county’s voting equipment in 2021 and is an avid supporter of the MyPillow nutjob, Mike Lindell. According to the Colorado Sun, “Peters is under a criminal investigation by local, state and federal authorities, and last week a Mesa County grand jury agreed to begin a probe into allegations of official misconduct against her.” Colorado’s Democratic Secretary of State filed a lawsuit today to block Tina Peters from being involved in the 2022 election—a positive result that highlights how crucial it is to prevent these right-wing extremists from holding power at every level of government. The Colorado Turnout Project is positioned to advance these goals in 2022 and help organizers at the local level while also exposing corrupt fraudsters like Lauren Boebert. We need to win the messaging wars on these local offices and make sure voters know how important they are to protecting their votes—can you contribute $5 or $15 to support our work to counter anti-democratic Trump loyalists who will try to subvert our elections again in 2022?
