When it comes to climate action, there’s so much on the line in 2022.

 

Our ability to advance our clean energy agenda on the federal and state levels depends entirely on what conservation voters do over the next several months. In the last few statewide elections, pro-conservation candidates won by razor thin margins. We’ve got to get to work today.

 

Right now, our team is hard at work identifying pro-conservation candidates in key areas of the state who are running for local office in the April elections. And as we get close to the August partisan primary, we’ll interview and endorse candidates for the state legislature and critical statewide offices – and gear up for what will be a huge campaign leading up to November.

2022 Elections start now

What’s at stake this year.

Hi John,

 

I hope you had a restful holiday season and a happy New Year. As you know, it's an election year. A few weeks ago, we told you there’s a lot on the line in 2022 – and we meant it. Here’s a few of the things on the ballot this year:

• The governorship and its veto
• State Assembly and Senate seats from Bayfield to Racine
• Ron Johnson’s Senate seat and control of the U.S. Senate
• 3rd Congressional District and control of the U.S. House of Representatives
• State treasurer
• Local elected offices in towns and counties across the state

Once elected, these people will make decisions that affect our water, energy, and democracy. 

In Wisconsin, the two most recent presidential elections were both decided by less than one percentage point. All things indicate that the 2022 election will be just as close. 

But, there’s good news. People like you are paying attention to climate change more than ever before. It’s become one of the biggest concerns across the state. 

Our job is to educate, activate, and turn out every voter we can to make sure that conservation is prioritized in all communities and at all levels of government. The fight for a cleaner and healthier Wisconsin starts now – and it starts with you.
