Friends –
Robert Garcia is a fighter for working people. As the Mayor of Long Beach, Robert made sure that Long Beach was the first city to vaccinate public school teachers and educators, the first to vaccinate food workers, and the first to vaccinate dock workers. Robert understands that working people are the glue that holds our society together.
That is why we are excited to announce the endorsements of key unions in the state of California.

He has always worked to keep our city safe and he understands the needs of our local community. Firefighters are ready to get to work to elect Mayor Garcia to Congress where we know he will be a champion for us across the country,” said Rex Pritchard, Long Beach FireFighters President.
Robert also was recently endorsed by Unite HERE Local 11, UFCW 324, and Teamsters JC 42.
Robert knows the strain that the pandemic has put on our hospitality workers. Under his leadership the City of Long Beach passed groundbreaking legislation to protect hospitality workers. He also supported the unionization of local hotels.
“Unite Here Local 11 is proud to strongly endorse Mayor Robert Garcia for Congress. Mayor Garcia has stood up for the working women and men of our union. Under his leadership the City of Long Beach passed groundbreaking legislation to protect hospitality workers, like the Worker Retention and Recall Ordinance,” said Unite Here Local 11 in a statement. “He will be a champion for working people in Congress and we look forward to mobilizing across the district during this campaign.”
Union members who work in grocery and retail stores have witnessed Robert Garcia stand up for them against large corporate interests and ensure that cannabis dispensary workers could join a union.
“UFCW 324 is 100% behind Mayor Robert Garcia. Our members who work in our grocery and retail stores have witnessed the Mayor stand up for them against large corporate interests,” said UFCW 324 Political Director Derek Smith. “He led efforts to increase wages by $4 an hour during the pandemic for our grocery workers and ensured that cannabis dispensaries in Long Beach were unionized. He is going to be a champion for the people in Congress.”
Mayor Garcia has also been a champion for the working truck drivers at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. He has supported Teamsters across the state.
"The Teamsters Joint Council 42, representing our workers across Southern California, is proud to endorse Mayor Robert Garcia for Congress,” said Randy Cammack, Teamsters JC 42 President. “Mayor Garcia has been a champion for our port truck drivers, waste haulers, and warehouse workers. He has always stood with workers and we are proud to strongly back his campaign.”
Robert Garcia will be a champion for working Californians in Congress. He isn’t taking corporate PAC money – so he needs to rely on the people who make up this grassroots campaign.
