"Conservatives are weakening the foundation of our democracy...There is still time to stop this conservative backlash to an electorate that has already soundly rejected their politics. But we could use your help to fight back." -- Eric H. Holder, Jr.

For the first time this Congress, the Senate is debating voting rights -- senators are speaking on the floor right now.

Mitch McConnell just referenced how the Senate overcame a filibuster in 1964 to pass the Civil Rights Act -- thinking that is somehow a bad reflection of current plans to reform Senate customs, not a bad reflection of his party refusing to protect and expand voting rights.

Every senator’s office needs to hear from constituents who support the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act. Make a call right now while senators are debating!

Conservative obstruction to block voting rights reform is egregious. This is the progress they are currently blocking:
→ expanding voting rights like early voting and vote-by-mail
→ modernizing voter registration
→ protecting voters from discriminatory voter suppression tactics
→ establishing transparent standards for redistricting
→ empowering voters to challenge gerrymandered congressional maps
→ restoring protections from the 1965 Voting Rights Act that were gutted by the Supreme Court

DEMAND ACTION AND TELL CONGRESS:
➡️ Protecting voting rights needs to be one of Congress’s top priorities.
➡️ You support the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act because it would end congressional gerrymandering, restore accountability in our government, and protect the right to vote.
➡️ Voters deserve to have their voices heard in the political process -- and this bill is essential to making that possible.

There are two ways you can take action today. Sign our petition supporting voting rights and our tool will send the petition to your senators! You can also use our call tool to be directly connected to their offices.

The Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act is the most comprehensive democracy reform legislation in decades.

At a time when gerrymandered state legislatures are doubling down on both voter suppression and manipulated maps, it could not be more urgent to put this legislation on the President's desk.

Call your senators and leave a message expressing your support for the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act.
