On Sunday, Maryland Republican Governor Larry Hogan took a brief break from lobbying against President Biden's plan to help lift children out of poverty and appeared on Face the Nation — where he bragged his polling shows he could defeat Chris in November.

He refused to rule out getting into this Senate race by the February 22nd filing deadline and said, while he wasn't interested in the Senate, 'people' were telling him it was his 'patriotic duty' to run. As the Baltimore Sun wrote last week — it's no secret who those 'people' are.

Mitch McConnell is looking for allies, so it’s no wonder he would reach out to Larry Hogan. Hogan opposed the American Rescue Plan, which provided urgent relief to families, workers and small businesses across Maryland. And, like McConnell, he's fighting against the Democratic plan to cut prescription drug costs and the cost of child care while closing tax loopholes that benefit big multi-national corporations.

That’s exactly the kind of guy Mitch McConnell and his big money SuperPACs like putting their wallets behind.
