Hi friend, We know that climate action is a priority to the majority of Californians. We also know that individuals are tired of being told that the responsibility to solve the climate crisis is on them. Individual actions are important, but it’s past time for large corporations that contribute the majority of pollution to be held accountable for their massive contributions to the climate crisis. Californians deserve transparency and accountability. We need the Climate Corporate Accountability Act (SB 260). Right now, tell your State Senator to vote YES on SB 260. |

Currently, many of the largest corporations doing business in California are not reporting their carbon footprint to the public. And while some corporate leaders are doing this, it's not nearly enough of the biggest polluters. The Climate Corporate Accountability Act would require all large U.S.-based corporations making over $1 billion annually and that do business in California to publicly disclose their full carbon footprint in a way that is easily understandable and available to the public. SB 260 also requires the state to report on how much these large corporations would have to reduce from their total emissions in order to avoid global temperature increases over 1.5 degrees Celsius, which is what climate science requires us to do in order to avoid climate chaos. More than 8 in 10 Californians believe that global warming is a serious problem and that government’s role is to regulate businesses' greenhouse gas emissions. Friend, we need your help to pass SB 260 before the January 31 deadline! Help us hold corporate polluters accountable: Email your State Senator today to make sure they are voting YES on SB 260 → |
