Community Is You: Volunteer Engagement Campaign

Can you help us find volunteers to change young people’s lives? On behalf of our members, we’re running a national campaign to recruit local volunteers to help rebuild our safe and secure spaces for young people in towns and villages across Ireland. Please help us reach future volunteers by sharing our campaign.

SPARK Youth Arts Festival

SPARK Youth Arts Festival is a national event to explore, discuss and celebrate the inspiring world of youth arts practice in Ireland. Join us from February 14th – 18th for a celebration of youth arts!

One World Week Training Workshops

To meet demand following the success of One World Week last November, we will be providing additional One World Week training workshops until the end of February 2022. These are aimed at young people and youth workers, and will facilitate discussions around the theme of “Global Identity: Collective Actions.”

Regularisation scheme for undocumented people opens January 31st

NYCI is delighted that the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MRCI) has opened the regularisation scheme for undocumented people living in Ireland, promising to bring rights and justice to about 17,000 residents, including 3,000 children and young people, who call Ireland home. The scheme opens on 31st of January. We urge the youth work sector to play an important role in this by linking young undocumented people and their families to the support that MRCI have in place.

Going for Gold

Gaisce – The President’s Award will hold a Gold Award Information Session via Zoom on Wednesday, January 26th from 6pm to 7.15pm. The Going for Gold event aims to answer all your questions and demystify the Gaisce Gold Award. The event is open to current Gold Participants, President Award Leaders and those curious about Gaisce - The President's Award.

Gaisce Wavelength Project 

Gaisce’s Wavelength project is coming to UCD on Wednesday, January 26th. Come along to find out more about Gaisce’s Wavelength programme - participants can be 18-25, and over 18's can be a President's Award Leader (PAL). This event is open to all UCD students who have refugee status or are currently seeking asylum in Ireland.

Young Environmentalist Awards

ECO-UNESCO’s Young Environmentalist Awards are now open for registration for 2022. The awards programme is open to any group of young people in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from 10-18 years of age.

Irish Youth Wind Ensemble 

The Irish Youth Wind Ensemble Summer Residential course 2022 will take place in University of Limerick from Sunday, 24 to Saturday, 30 July 2022. Auditions will take place in Cork on Saturday, 5 March 2022 and in Dublin on Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 March 2022. The closing date for your audition application is Friday, 25 February 2022.

Irish Youth Foundation Funding Opportunity

The IYF Skills & Employability Fund will offer grants to projects and programmes that support young people who are currently not in education, training or employment to successfully transition into skills based opportunities, mentorship opportunities, further learning opportunities and employment opportunities. The closing date for this fund is Wednesday 27th January 2022.

Vhi Health & Wellbeing Fund

This fund will focus on supporting projects that seek to strengthen resilience in young people and help them manage anxiety, with the emphasis on early intervention and prevention. The closing date for this fund is Wednesday 16th February 2022.

Safer Internet Day

On Safer Internet Day on February 8th, Webwise and the National Parents Council is calling on everyone to #TalkListenLearn. The campaign encourages families to have a conversation about the online world, and support parents as they help their child make the most of the opportunities offered by the internet in a safe and positive way!

Format: keep submissions concise (three lines or shorter). Include a link to your website where readers can find out more.

The E-Bulletin goes out to over 5,000 subscribers with an interest in youth issues. It is a great opportunity both to let the sector know about the fantastic work your organisation does and to target youth workers and those interested in youth work issues directly.
