The Senate votes TODAY on voting rights. People died for democracy and the right to vote. It’s our duty to them: Sideline the Filibuster and pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act.
[Social Graphic] Take action today! Sideline the filibuster. Pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act. AFL-CIO.

Hi John,

Senator John R. Lewis fought his whole life to defend democracy and win the right to vote. We need to pass voting rights legislation to continue his legacy, but the filibuster is stopping us. Tell your senators: Sideline the Filibuster and pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act.

What is democracy?

Is it passing voter suppression laws in nineteen states? Is it a violent insurrection in our Capitol?

Or is it John Lewis on Bloody Sunday? Leading a march in Selma to demand equal voting rights for Black people.

We know which one is right…do you?

Protecting democracy means making it easier to vote—not harder.

So if you support a democracy where everyone can vote…make sure your senators do too.

In solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO
