Yesterday – the third Monday in January – was "Blue Monday", which many describe as the most depressing day of the year. The warm glow of the holidays is gone, nights are long and cold, and the holiday bills are arriving.
Blue Monday was actually concocted as a marketing gimmick by a UK travel company 16 years ago.
Unfortunately, a new Fraser Institute study out today finds that "Blue 2022" might be more appropriate here in Canada, as we are now ranked the 6th most miserable country among 35 advanced economies worldwide!
The causes? High inflation and high unemployment.
