The #1 issue I hear about in Brandon and Riverview is the traffic. The truth is, our own County Commissioner Stacy White single-handedly robbed us of billions of dollars towards our roads and bridges, while making millions for his lawyers.

I’ve said I’ll go through, around, and over to get something done; and that’s what I’m doing. We’ve already secured the funding, in part thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill to expand all the I-75 interchanges from Big Bend Rd, Boyette Rd, US-301, and HWY-60; but I’m not stopping there.

Florida Department of Transportation is intentionally difficult to influence so that projects are properly prioritized based on needs. That’s part of how we were able to kill the roads-to-nowhere known as M-Cores that threatened critical habitats in remote areas of the State.

Still, HB4355 and 4347 are local transportation projects that will help our community and meet the special requirements required for direct funding. They will help make safer pathways for the children attending Limona Elementary and expand capacity in Ybor City which is an economic driver for our region.

Additionally, I’m all-in on passing All for Transportation 2.0. My district supported it by more than 56-44% in 2018, and it passed county-wide by and even larger margin. This is what people want, a penny tax to fix 30-years of underinvestment that led us to gridlock.

As a state official, I can only fix state roads and interstates. As soon as you turn onto Bloomingdale, Symes, Causeway, or Bell Shoals it becomes time to blame Stacy White and his ridiculous stonewalling of road improvements while he greenlit endless sprawl.

I told you I’d go around, through, and over anyone to get something done, and that’s what I’m doing. You can help me too! Go to AndrewLearned.com/Action to help email the requisite committees, spread the word, and help me fix these damn roads!
